Canada Gets Ready for Movember 2012

Movember 2012 is rapidly approaching, and with it comes a flurry of activity as men in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and across the globe prepare themselves for this manly month, annual celebration of facial hair and charitable event all rolled into one. The uninitiated may be wondering, "What is Movember?" It actually goes much deeper than just a fashion statement or an ornament on a gentleman's face. This once-a-year event also helps to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues such as prostate and testicular cancer. It began in Australia and New Zealand in 2004. By 2007, it had spread to Canada and other countries in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Men who are participating in this fun way to bring awareness to male health issues spend the entire month growing, grooming and showing off the fruits of their efforts while collecting generous sponsors and donations as they progress. The perfect Movember moustache begins with a fresh, clean-shaven face on the first of November. It doesn't matter whether gentlemen prefer the fine art of shaving with a straight razor or the use of a quality double edge safety razor. The important thing is to enjoy the process that will create a clean canvas, which will soon be decorated with the finest, well-groomed facial hair that the month of November has ever seen.

The gentlemen who participate in the selfless fanfare of this far-reaching effort find that just a few simple tools are necessary to transform their facial hair into a noteworthy set of whiskers. Many Mo Bros, as they are affectionately called, find that a moustache comb, scissors and wax make an excellent set of grooming instruments to enhance their labors. A grooming safety razor and replacement blades may also be useful. It's a great idea to have these products on hand at the beginning of the month because November only comes once per year.
